Steel products manufacturer Kroman Steel needed rail transfer carts to optimise load handling between halls in its new production facility. The existing overhead cranes were reducing operational efficiency. To improve this situation, we analysed our customer’s needs and designed a custom solution.
Technical Design and Production
In the project, a rail transfer cart with a carrying capacity of 25 tonnes and capable of running on an 80-metre line was produced. The vehicle offers energy efficiency by providing power transfer with a cable drum. The system, which can be controlled by cable control, optimised the transfer speed to 15 m/min, increasing the speed of operations. Safety measures include flashing warning lights, an 85 dB siren half tone and emergency stop buttons.
Conclusion
The CE certified rail transfer cart we produced for Kroman Çelik added value to our customer’s operational processes. We have achieved a significant improvement in the production line by making the transport processes between the halls faster, safer and more efficient.
